Romancing the Creek Aftermath

Romancing the Creek went over wonderfully this past weekend, 100+ people showed up, and we netted almost a ton of garbage from the creek!

There was also press there, and we got published in both the San Jose Mercury News and the San Mateo County Times! Below is a link to the online slideshow from the San Jose Mercury.

Send in any videos, pictures, or whatever other stuff related to the event!

Next Event July 7th at 4pm

Carla reports that they spent a lovely afternoon with 3 other people cleaning up the slough by Redwood Creek on Tuesday June 7th. They went out with Creekmaster Dave McCallum in his boats. The group picked up 120 pounds of garbage. They found a turtle shell, a Geocache container, and a message in a bottle. The plan is to do it again next month, July 7 at 4 pm. Gather at the Peninsula Yacht Club. Hopefully more people will join them next time!

Looking for volunteers!

Please join us starting at 4pm on Tuesday, June 7th. When will we be done? When we finish cleaning!

Steinberg Slough needs your help. We expect it to take about 12 man hours to clean the more people who come the faster we can get the job done. If you can only come for one or two hours that also helps.

Please meet us at the front of the Peninsula Yacht Club (1536 Maple St., Redwood City, CA 94063). Bring boots, gloves and clothes that can get dirty. We will be going out in dinghy’s and cleaning Steinberg Slough.

RSVP’s are especially welcome. Register on our site and RSVP by using the comments.
