What you can do!

  • Read labels before purchasing detergent, shampoo and personal care products. Look for products that have no phosphates, no chlorine, no fragrances / free of artificial fragrances, no dyes, no animal ingredients and no petroleum.
  • For laundry, dishwashing and bathing, it’s best to use an eco-brand and any eco-brand worth its eco-label will be phosphate- and chlorine-free.
  • Properly dispose of sewage including human feces and urine.
  • Scrape food particles off dirty dishes before putting them in the sink.
  • Put sink strainer in the kitchen sink so the strainer catches most of food particles before the dishwater is drained.
  • Educate yourself and others about protecting our waterways.
